Journey through the galleries in search of shiny silver objects on display. Learn how silver once drove global trade and why it was valued by merchants, collectors, and artists. Then, create your own silvery artwork.
Join us for a special film screening to discover the beautiful landscapes of Peru, and watch as stories come alive in an interactive drama performance and storytelling session.
This programme is presented in conjunction with Manila Galleon: From Asia to the Americas. Enjoy discounted admission to the special exhibition during programme hours ($10 for Singapore citizens/PR; $20 for foreign residents/tourists).

Be inspired by the shimmery silver objects in the museum’s collection, then create your own silver foil artwork to take home.

11.30am & 2.30pm Auditorium, Basement A sly and cunning trickster believes that he can make a living by outwitting others instead of working hard. One day, he encounters a gullible farmer in the field and spins a tale about a magical well that can produce silver at will. Join in to find out if the farmer will fall for his lies!

Listen to this tale of Mr Monkey and Mr Crocodile, an unlikely friendship between two very different creatures. When Mrs Crocodile becomes jealous of their bond, will their friendship withstand the test?

Join us for a special screening of Hatun Phaqcha, The Healing Land. Taking the viewer through the culturally and biologically diverse regions of Peru, the film showcases the cultivation, uses, and nutritional value of traditional crops that were domesticated in the pre-Columbian period.
