Up Close with ACM

A Tactile Museum Experience by Facilitators from Dialogue in the Dark Singapore

Blindfolded woman feeling a 3D printed object up close

Up Close with ACM presents a unique way to engage with the ACM collection – through your sense of touch! Developed in partnership with Dialogue in the Dark Singapore, this intimate programme is led by facilitators with visual impairment.

During a 90-minute session, blindfolded participants will handle 3D-printed objects based on the museum’s collection. They will then get to experience the museum through a guided tour of these objects in ACM’s Maritime Trade and Court & Company galleries, led by our friendly Museum Volunteers.

This programme is generously supported by Keppel Corporation.

Recommended for ages 15 and up.

“I enjoyed being able to try a new way to experience the artefacts, which made me appreciate little details more.”

“It was experiential and really helped me empathise with how persons with visual impairment might feel in the museum.”
