The First Kavadi

Friday, 10 February

During the festival of Thaipusam, devotees carry elaborate structures known as kavadi  to fulfil their vows and as an expression of gratitude to the Hindu deity Murugan.

Join Kamini Ramachandran as she shares stories about discovering the legend behind the giant Idumban and the first kavadi, accompanied by live music by Raghavendran Rajasekaran. The story will include a specially composed auditory experience, accompanied by a diorama of miniature figurines depicting scenes of the Thaipusam celebration.

Recommended for audiences aged 16 and above. Wireless headphones will be provided.
