Art Installation - Lost and Found
Lost and Found is an intimate exploration of artistic surrender, where the artist Wei dissolves into the creative process—becoming "lost" in deliberate yet unplanned movements. As he places each line of tape with purposeful attention, organic curves emerge naturally, transforming the space into a meditative canvas that reflects his inner landscape. In this process, he "finds" moments of serenity and enlightenment.
In 2025, Wei has chosen to focus primarily on this meditative tape art practice as a means of nurturing his mental wellbeing. Each carefully placed line represents a mindful journey, existing harmoniously within the artwork's chosen space. Through the transformation of public spaces using the humble medium of masking tape, Wei invites viewers to pause and appreciate the visual impact his work brings to familiar environments, encouraging them to reimagine these everyday spaces.
Lost and Found is part of ongoing placemaking initiatives to establish Armenian Street as a focal point for craft and design in the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, Singapore's Arts and Heritage District. Just as Wei's work invites us to see familiar spaces anew through his meditative tape art, these activations along Armenian Street aim to transform this historic street into a dynamic showcase of Singapore's creative talent, reimagining everyday urban spaces as sites of artistic expression and cultural exchange.
