Mural Installation - Art School
Vibrant and diverse, the Bras Basah.Bugis precinct is endlessly fascinating, filled with rich culture and heritage at every turn. Rediscover the lesser-known stories of this historical neighbourhood through this series of mural installations presented by National Heritage Board.
About the Artwork – Art School
Bras Basah Road, initially named College Street, provided a setting for Singapore’s earliest schools. From Mission schools to Chinese schools, some of these former educational buildings are now National Monuments or gazetted for conservation, such as the former St Joseph’s Institution, now the Singapore Art Museum and the French Convent, now CHIJMES. Today, new institutions like The School of the Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts, and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts bring student life to the precinct. This mural is a nod to the creativity that practically bursts out of the neighbourhood, and showcases a fun figure drawing workshop... Pop in for a look! Snap a photo, or better yet... Flex those creative muscles and draw yourself a portrait too.
