Frontliners in Action: architects and the people create a better living environment
Architects are like field agents. They must constantly be resourceful in surmounting constraints, to find solutions that address “frontline” challenges. These challenges may be social, environmental, natural or even man-made. Every day, in the course of their work, architects attempt to ameliorate these issues through innovative design and architecture. Increasingly, citizens are also exerting their influence in enhancing the environment, through active support and participation in ground-up initiatives. Architects and the people are our extraordinary “frontliners”.
Frontliners in Action: architects and the people create a better living environment is a collective exhibition comprising Space to Imagine, Room for Everyone by the NUS curatorial team; Limit/Limitless by MKPL; and Living Shelter by WY-TO and Pod Structures. The exhibitions were first mounted at Venice Biennale (also known as the 15th International Architecture Exhibition) in 2016.
Frontliners in Action is organised by DesignSingapore Council and partnered by National University of Singapore, MKPL Architects, WY-TO, Pod Structures and ShopHouse & Co.
