Sim Chi Yin: Most people were silent
Sim Chi Yin (born 1978 Singapore, lives Beijing) is an artist who employs photography, film, sound and text to tell stories. After years of working as a photojournalist and foreign correspondent for magazines and newspapers worldwide, she is now pursuing a career in the visual arts.
In 2017 Chi Yin was commissioned to make an exhibition of her research on nuclear weapons for the Nobel Peace Center museum in Oslo. A new configuration of her series Fallout will be presented in the Earl Lu Gallery.
In 2018 Chi Yin won the Chris Hondros Award, named after the American photojournalist who was killed in 2011 while on assignment in Libya.
