Nanyang International Music Competition (NIMC) 2023 - Chinese Music Division
The Nanyang International Music Competition (NIMC) provides a platform for young rising musicians to showcase their craft, challenge themselves and reach higher standards of performance. Organised by the NAFA School of Music, the establishment of this competition seeks to bring together musicians and music lovers, and align with NAFA’s mission to inspire learning and growth through the arts.
We hope that this competition will inculcate creative attitudes and a spirit of curiosity and responsibility in our young musicians as they come together to share the fruits and labour of their musical learning journey. More importantly, musical exchange within a supportive community of like-minded people can be fostered.
Instrumental categories under the NIMC 2023 Chinese Music Division include:
- Solo: Pipa (Artist Category A)
- Solo: Erhu, Banhu, Dizi, Guzheng, Pipa, Yangqin, Zhongruan, Liuqin, Suona, Sheng, Guqin, Chinese Percussion (Category B1 / B2 / C1 / C2 / D1 / D2)
- Ensemble & Orchestra (Category E1 / E2 / F / G)
(Do note that the virtual competition is not a live streaming competition. All solo virtual competitors are required to submit a video recording of their performance for the assessment by our panel of adjudicators.)
