Accessibility, amenities, and museum navigation

Getting to the museum

The Peranakan Museum is located at 39 Armenian Street. Visit our Plan Your Visit page for more information on getting to the museum.

Bus drop-off points

We recommend for 40-seater buses to drop off visitors at the dedicated drop-off point beside The Bible House along Coleman Street. 20-seater buses, wheelchair transports, and other smaller vehicles can turn into Loke Yew Street and drop off visitors outside the museum.
Visitors are encouraged to bring umbrellas or ponchos as there is no shelter from the drop-off points to the museum entrance.

Entrances and ramps

There is a short flight of steps leading up to the museum entrance. The entrance has automatic doors. Visitors with mobility considerations should use the ramp beside the stairs to access the museum.

Social Story

We welcome visitors of all abilities, including families with children and adults on the autism spectrum. To help prepare for your visit, download the Social Story about what to expect while visiting the museum.

Accessible facilities and amenities

All galleries are wheelchair accessible, and there is a lift serving all levels of the museum. Accessible washrooms are located on Levels 1 and 3 of the museum.  Manual wheelchairs are free to borrow at the Front Desk in the lobby. Check out our Plan Your Visit page for more information on accessible amenities and other services at the museum.

Photography

Taking photos is allowed and encouraged! However, visitors should turn off the flash on their phones and cameras.

Food and beverages

We kindly ask that visitors not consume food and drinks inside the museum.
