About the event
The National Heritage Board, under the auspices for the ICOM SG National Committee, is organising a symposium in Singapore to look at the future role of museums. Titled "The Changing Role of Museums: New Museums for a New Age", the symposium will explore how society’s definition of museums has been evolving – from the past, to the present, and towards the future. It will also highlight current trends in museum ownership, sustainability, partnerships and governance, and share challenges confronting museums of the future.
The symposium will feature several renowned international museum experts, including members from the ICOM Standing Committee Museum Definition, Prospects and Potentials, as well as eminent museum professionals from Singapore and the region.
Join us on the 9 October and have a say in how ICOM defines museum for a new age!
