Four captivating dance forms – Mayilattam (Peacock Dance), Poikal Kuthirai Attam (Horse Dance), Sattai Kuchi Attam, and Karagattam – bring the connection between Tamil culture and the natural world to life.

A non-profit art organisation founded in 2013, AK Theatre is committed to discovering the potential for art everyone. They celebrate Indian heritage and Tamil language through the revival of storytelling and traditional art forms. AK Theatre conducts art festivals, interactive workshops, and stage productions with a focus on Indian traditional art forms with strong Singaporean elements. Through interactive essentials, they promote an appreciation for mother tongue languages, as well as improvisation and communication skills.

Sri Warisan is a performing arts company founded in 1997 by Madam Som Said, a recipient of the Cultural Medallion. A pivotal player in Singapore’s Malay dance scene, the company blends rich, traditional forms with contemporary techniques. They have staged more than 65 local productions with the support of the National Arts Council Singapore, and provide arts education and enrichment to students at more than 300 schools.

About Chong Li-Chuan

Chong Li-Chuan (b. 1975) is a Singaporean composer and sound artist who is passionate about philosophy, culture, and the arts. He began his career as a composer and sound designer in the 1990s through collaborations with artists and performers working in various fields, including theatre, dance, filmmaking, and design. His work includes music composition, sound design, field recording, soundscape composition, site-specific art, installations, free improvisation, and collaborations that explore different modes of expression and the poetics of sound. Li-Chuan has worked on projects in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Singapore.
