Join Siong Leng Musical Association as they explore the many possibilities of nanyin, a style of traditional music that originated in southern Fujian. In collaboration with Ashlyn Yeo on guitar, this special performance includes fresh arrangements of traditional and contemporary works to showcase the beauty of this ancient art form.

This workshop takes participants through the history of nanyin — a style of traditional music from southern Fujian — and its development in Singapore. The workshop will present the origins of nanyin and the instruments used with live demonstrations. Join Siong Leng Musical Association as they transport you back to the Han dynasty, where nanyin first began.
