7 Oct: Cantiamo – Rich Vocal Works Join the YST Voice majors as we celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of a composer whose initials match the first letters of the title of this program. Hear music from composers who influenced his style and enjoy exploring his multi-faceted vocal solo and chamber works.
14, 21, and 28 Oct: Chamber Sit back and enjoy a programme of small ensemble music presented by the Conservatory’s chamber musicians.
4 Nov: Jazz Chase the blues away as you swing along in this lunchtime programme of upbeat jazz tunes and improvisations.
11 Nov: Zoomorphic Muses: An Afternoon at the Museum What would happen if we reimagined some of the fantastic mythical creatures seen on ancient animal-shaped objects and created music that sounds like Debussy’s dreamy "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" on an afternoon at ACM?
Inspired by zoomorphic objects from the ACM collection, musicians from YST’s Text and Music class will unfold a new narrative of ancient animal-shaped objects through music. Through the students' rich musical imagination and creativity, some of these fantastic creatures will be reimagined and brought to life! This project is curated by lecturers Dr Chen Zhangyi and Dr Sara Florian.
