For Seniors
From cooking tutorials to virtual museum tours, the National Museum of Singapore offers a wide range of online activities and resources specially designed for seniors, including those with disabilities or mild dementia.
Senior-Friendly Zoom Tours
Join us on a virtual conversational tour of our permanent galleries and/or special exhibitions from the comforts of your home! Based on a different theme every month, these free virtual tours are conducted over Zoom and give seniors a chance to explore a variety of artefacts from our museum’s collection. This tour is conducted by our museum’s Care Facilitators and is specially designed for seniors, including persons with dementia and their care partners.
Our Zoom tours are only available on request by senior organisations or centres. Interested organisations can email us at nhb_nm_programmes@nhb.gov.sg to book a tour.
NMS Easy Guides
Free, available for download. Limited copies available at the museum.
Keen to explore the galleries but unsure where to start? Or would you like to plan a visit for seniors and engage them in conversations about our artefacts? Download one of our NMS Easy Guides for a fuss-free planning experience and explore two of our permanent galleries on a self-led tour for seniors and/or persons with dementia.
These guides are best used by seniors on their own, with care partners or in organised groups on-site in the respective galleries at the National Museum of Singapore, or as a conversational toolkit with their care partners and/or senior care staff at home or at senior care centres.
Our L2 galleries are currently undergoing restoration works and not accessible on-site.

All I Have To Do Is Dream – An In-Gallery Theatre Performance
What does the Singapore Dream look like to you and me?

What did the Singapore Dream look like to our seniors who toiled through the days of rapid industrialisation?
What does the 2020 Singapore Dream look like to our retiring and active seniors now?
Two mysterious figures wake up in the National Museum of Singapore on National Day 2020. Both exist to collect dreams – one has the ability to draw out the deeper knowledge behind objects, while the other uses sign language to sculpt meaning in the air with his fingers. With the help of a young museum worker with Down Syndrome, they embark on a journey through the galleries, collecting dreams of the past and present.
This programme was held in conjunction with the 2020 National Day Celebrations.
