Foothill Stories – A Roving Performance with Craft Component

Date: 4, 5, 11, 12 May 2024

Time: 11:00am & 2:00pm

Let’s travel back in time and unravel their history together in this roving performance through shoebox puppetry and visual mapping, followed by a hands-on craft session.

The year was 1912 and at the foot of Fort Canning Hill lies two primary schools – Tao Nan School and Anglo-Chinese School. What were these schools like? What has changed across the years and what has remained? Take a walk with us to Children’s Museum Singapore and The Peranakan Museum, which were once schools that served the community.

 

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Date: 4, 5, 11, 12 May 2024

Time: 11:00am & 2:00pm

Venue: Various locations – Children’s Museum Singapore, Peranakan Museum, Lewin Terrace (registration point will be at the entrance of Children’s Museum Singapore)

Recommended Age: 5 to 12 years old

Activity Fee: $18 per pax

Wet Weather Programme: In case of light rain, the programme will proceed as per normal. Kindly prepare your own umbrella or poncho. Should it be heavy rain, the performance will be slightly altered.

[Children's Day Special - Free] Makan Mischief

Little Mynah loves to help, so when her friends Jen and Jay are bored eating the same old noodle dish at the hawker centre, she comes up with a makan surprise for everyone! Join author and storyteller Evelyn Wong for an interactive storytelling in English, with multilingual dialogue. This storytelling session is presented by the Speak Good English Movement and a Children's Day Special.
