Superhawker Me

Filled with heartwarming moments and vibrant flavours of Singapore’s hawker culture, “Superhawker Me” is a multisensorial relaxed* performance where audiences can expect a fun-filled sing-along time and participate in several hands-on interactive segments during the performance.

Join Ming on a delightful adventure in “Superhawker Me”! Ming is a regular at the bustling East Hawker Centre, where the legendary Hero Popiah stall resides. For over 30 years, Ming’s grandpa and grandma have been serving up the best popiah in Singapore, earning the title of superhawker in Ming’s eyes. Curious and proud of their family’s legacy, Ming dreams of becoming a superhawker too. But what makes a true superhawker? Is there more to the secret recipe of success than meets the eye? Come and cheer for Ming on this superhawker journey!

Duration: Approximately 45 minutes

Time: 2:15pm (free-and-easy museum visit after the programme: 3:00pm – 3:45pm)

Venue: Children’s Museum Singapore – Into the Hawkerverse exhibition gallery (Level 2)

Recommended Age: 3 to 8 years old (neurotypical and neurodiverse children)

Activity Fee: $18 per pax

*For these relaxed performances, we welcome families with neurotypical and neurodiverse children to come enjoy the performance together. Performance etiquette rules will be more relaxed, allowing children with different needs and abilities to ease into the experience.

  2. Tickets are at $18 per pax.
  3. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

This storytelling session is in collaboration with Families for Life as a complement to Children’s Museum Singapore’s special exhibition, Into the Hawkerverse.

Mini Makan Mania: Craft Your Own Ice Kachang Keychain!

Get ready to embark on a delightful culinary adventure as we celebrate the museum’s birthday with a special miniature food craft workshop. Create your very own miniature ice kachang using clay in this fun, hands-on parent-child workshop! In the session, you'll learn to shape and texture clay to replicate the appearance of ice kachang, sculpt a small bowl, and discover techniques for mixing and applying colours to achieve realistic details. Keep your creation as a display piece or transform it into an adorable keychain to take home!

[Children's Day Special - Free] Makan Mischief

5 & 6 Oct 2024

Little Mynah loves to help, so when her friends Jen and Jay are bored eating the same old noodle dish at the hawker centre, she comes up with a makan surprise for everyone! Join author and storyteller Evelyn Wong for an interactive storytelling in English, with multilingual dialogue. This storytelling session is presented by the Speak Good English Movement and a Children's Day Special.

Children’s Museum Singapore is excited to invite and open-up our space to grownups* (yes, you don’t need a child to enter the museum at this after-hours event!). It’s that time of the year where the museum will be opened to everyone during Singapore Night Festival 2024 and this includes access to two floor of exhibits, activities and fun. Come join us this August-September 2024!
