The National Heritage Board, in collaboration with Nanyang Polytechnic School of Design & Media, presents the Kebaya Catwalk – a collection of four limited edition kebaya-themed merchandise, featuring cats wearing traditional kebayas as collectible keychains. This initiative celebrates the successful multinational inscription of Kebaya: Knowledge, Skills, Traditions and Practices on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

From 24 March to 16 June 2025, members of the public will be able to redeem the merchandise for free via #WeHeartKebaya vending machines placed at different locations in Singapore, while stocks last. Be sure to look out for these vending machines!

What’s in Store?

The Kebaya Catwalk features four beloved cat breeds found locally, each dressed in distinctive kebaya styles commonly seen in Singapore: Kebaya Sulam, Kebaya Panjang, Kebaya Pendek, and Kebaya Kotabaru. Available in blind box format, each set includes:

  • A keychain (collect all four designs!)
  • A character card with educational information about the featured kebaya style
  • A display stand
  • A presentation box

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Do I have to pay for the merchandise?

No, the merchandise is free.

2. How many times can I redeem the merchandise?

To ensure fair distribution, and to allow more Singaporeans to access this merchandise, each mobile number is limited to one redemption per vending machine location. You may visit other locations or wait for the next release to redeem again.

3. How many pieces of merchandise are available?

The merchandise is available while stocks last. Keep an eye on this page for updates.

4. How can I collect all 4 designs?

The merchandise is released in a phased approach, according to the schedule above. If you wish to collect all designs, do visit the different locations during each release, or make it a fun activity by gathering your friends and family to work together!.

5. Can I redeem merchandise from previous releases?

The first two releases will feature different sets of designs. If you weren't able to participate in the first or second release, you'll have another chance - all four designs will return during the final release period.

6. I have redeemed the merchanidse at one of two vending machine locations in that particular month, can I redeem again at the other location?

Yes. Each mobile number is limited to one redemption per vending machine location.

7. What are the redemption hours?

Redemption hours vary for each vending machine location. Please refer to the scehdule above for detailed redemption hours at the respective locations. We recommend checking each location's website for the most up-to-date operating hours and any closure announcements.

8. I could not locate the vending machines.

Location details of each vending machine are provided on this webpage, with embedded Google Maps links. Simply click on any location link for directions.

9. The merchandise could not be dispensed.

We apologise for this technical error. If you have not received your merchandise, your redemption remains valid. You may attempt the redemption again.

10. The vending machine is under maintenance.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We assure you that we are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Please check this page for updates. Alternatively, you may visit the vending machine at the other location.

11. The vending machine is out of merchandise.

Merchandise is available while stocks last. Please check this page for updates. If the merchandise is not available at this location, you may wish to visit the vending machine at the other location.

12. The merchandise I received is defective.

We apologise if you have received a defective item. Please complete this form within 7 days of redemption. We will respond to your enquiry as soon as possible. (Please note that slight variations in colour and/or design of the merchandise may occur due to different production runs or batches. These variations are considered normal and do not constitute a defect.)

2. Merchandise is redeemable while stocks last.
3. Merchandise is subjected to change at the discretion of the National Heritage Board.
4. Each mobile number is limited to one redemption per vending machine location.
5. Visitors visiting the vending machine should adhere to all guidelines at each location.
6. Redemption of merchandise is only available at the respective locations listed.
7. Merchandise is strictly non-transferable, non-exchangebale, and non-replaceable for credit, cash or kind in all cases whether in whole or in part.
8. The National Heritage Board reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.
